Information Technology has changed the life’s of people all around the World. In countries like India, usage of Digital Technology has drastically increased over years to such an extent that whether you are a scholar or an illiterate, you are the one who have started using technology. This article covers the vision of Digital India and outcomes of a truly Digital India.
Indian Government has come up with the vision of Digital India. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India has recently announced to invest about Rs.1 Lakh crore Rupees to make India Digital. It was not many years before when banks of India has announced that they are going to be computerized, most of them at that time discouraged the decision. This was because of the thought that it may cause retrenching of employees who may not get habituated with computers. In-spite of the opposition, banks didn’t step back and they got computerized. Now we all know how good the banks are working and providing excellent services to people in all parts of the country. Now we withdraw amount from ATM’s, transfer funds through Internet Banking, through Applications from our Mobile phones. These all are paperless operations through which we are not only saving our time, but also being a part of saving environment

There are many initiatives taken by government for the development of Digital India. One of the example Pradhanmantri jhan dhan yojana where people of India are encouraged to open the bank account with zero balance as it is believed that most of the people living in rural India don’t even have bank account. In order to bring the financial inclusion PM, Mr. Narendra Modi has stepped forward to make people open accounts, so that the government subsidizes and other scheme funds can reach public directly with out mediators. This initiative is highly successful and has recorded Guinness book of World Records.
Now as India has come up with a vision Digital India, given below are few advantages that will be foreseen with #DigitalIndia initiative
And also their will be smooth flow of information like:
- Maintaining ,retrieving and transfer of files would be easy any time and anywhere
- Transparency of information
- No misuse of funds
- Faster grievance redressal will be possible.
In the means of Digital Governance, we can give Kerala as good example and can take inspiration of them to visualize India Digital, Kerala has made their state Digital with the program Akshaya which educated public and made sure that at least one of each household with minimum basic computer skills and started making use of technology, now their is fast flow of information and operations with much more efficiency and productivity. Now they introduced MESSAGE digital flow of information system by which they build a knowledge based system and is being used in six departments, are highly successful.
So, even though in my view we no longer find usage of computers or latest technology harder as we are now habituated with the mobile phones , computers, and other devices as they are user friendly. Now even Governments has started using social networking sites like twitter , face book, in order to be more closer to the public. Now a days we commonly use for
- E-commerce sites for buying and selling of various items
- Operating of bank accounts and usage in operating DE-MAT accounts of share markets etc.,
- Applying for the various jobs through online, sending emails, video chat etc., usage of smartphones, sending messages, downloading various applications, usage of social networking sites like twitter , Facebook etc.,
- Booking Tickets online
- Visiting Websites for various information, online complaints etc.,
So, in short I want to explain what will be the outcomes if we make India Digital, for sure we can expect less corruption, smooth flow of information, communication will be faster and more services
Some of the sectors which can be benefited with Digital India are below
Medical needs can be reached:
In our India it seems that their is one doctor for about 1300 people, so i think by making India Digital, we can make use of doctors all around the world not only from India, supply of medicines, blood , organs can be easily identified and can also educate public in this regard.
Law and Justice:
We all know that their are many cases which are even being dragged for years, so i think by this we can easily close the cases and can be provided with justice as early as possible.
Agriculture Sector:
With the Digital means i think Rural India can more get adequate information regarding the various schemes, subsidies, their will be no miscommunication between the government and public their by getting more productivity as we can identify where farmers are lacking back and their by provide solutions as required. Even though government has introduced toll free numbers but this digital vision will help more in educating farmers.
Financial Inclusion:
We are already good at financial sector in making use of digital means for operating of various accounts even bank and share market. In this regard we can further improve with more innovative ideas.
Education Sector:
Where student get knowledge regarding various courses, colleges , attend various online courses improve their knowledge from anywhere which results in more productivity and help in growth of the country.
Industries and economic Development:
Now with the increase of technology, smooth flow of information their will be more productivity with quality their by boosting exports and can attract further foreign investment and projects in India, by which their will be more income and employment.
More services from the government:
As the public can directly share their views, suggestions and complaints to the authorities with a single click and their by expect more increased productivity and services from the government as they can address various complaints in less time. This E- Governance helps India in development of infrastructure , good facilities, education, more employment opportunities which leads to overall growth of the country.
Likely, but in order to make this happen education of digital skills are required, so now the corporate Companies like Intel http://www.intel.in/ has joined hands with the Indian government through its “Digital Skills for India “ program to help 5 million people by the end of 2015 as they believe skill development and innovation are imperative for realizing the Digital India Vision and Intel will be working in these two areas to educate the citizens of India and therefore being a part of Vision of Digital India.
So, for me I am waiting for Digital India so that it will develop our India economically and improves the standard of living of public . I will also be part of its program by educating people around me and also in learning new things.
What about you, what are your views and suggestions about digital India, share with me.
