Travel in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam is one of the beautiful tourist place in state of Andhra Pradesh of south India and also second largest city in the state with 550 km. Apart from tourism , the city is also known as port and Industrial city.  This is also an Educational hub  as the most famous universities like Andhra University and Gitam University are in Visakhapatnam. The city is well planned with wide roads and transport facilities with greenery all around. If you are in Visakhapatnam,  then one must  have a tour in and around the city which is well connected with roads, and is designed in such a way that one can use all means of transport to drive through various places according to convenience through bike,car,bus,train etc., But believe me whatever vehicle you choose to travel you have different experience with each of it.

So, now let me tell you what beautiful tourist destinations you have in Visakhapatnam , first i will start with,

Ramakrishna beach: This is one of the busiest beach in visakhapatnam, apart from yarada,rushikonda beach. If you like beaches then you must need to visit this place and also on south of the beach one can see the Dolphin nose which is formed through natural formation from a hard rock, and on the rock  there is a light house which is known for its powerful beam which can be viewed from 64kms from the land  . Near by one can visit the Vuda park, Kali temple, Submarine museum and you can also see the War memorial on the sea , is called as Victory at Sea and is dedicated to the memory of great soldiers who laid down their lives in Indo-Pak war 1971. If you are a jogger and then you can enjoy jogging early in the morning near the beach, you can have a good experience.

Kailasgiri Hill: This is also busiest weekend tourist destination and is known for the popular idols of Lord Shiva and Parvathi which are made of white marble, it is a huge park with different floral plants, from the top of the hill you can have a scenic view of the city and also the beach.

IndraGandhi Zoological Park: This park is on the National Highway and covers about 250 hectares, is the second largest park after Hyderabad, apart from various animals and birds, one can enjoy seeing the White Tiger,

Simhachalam temple: This is the temple of Lord Narasimha swamy which is on a hill and is 16kms away from the city. You can travel by bike,bus,or by car to reach this place.

Thotlakonda and Bhavikonda: ats once visakhapatnam is under the rule of king Asokha one can view the architecture of Buddhist stupas of Maha stupa viharas, chitya gruhas etc., in short you can view the schools of Buddhism.

Borra Caves: This caves are the natural formation and one can view crystal white stones formed in different shapes. Inside the cave there is a Shivalinga where the water dips and is known to be called as the origin of the river Gosthani. One can also view the flow of River Gosthani.

Araku Valley: This hill station is 117 kms from visakhapatnam on the Eastern Ghats, one must surely visit this place where you can find picturesque landscapes, beautiful climate and waterfalls makes you love the place.

Here you can also see the coffee plantations and orchards, one can also enjoy the Dhimsa dance practiced by the villagers residing overthere which is a age old folk dance.

Padmapuram Gardens: It is of about 26 acres now it is a popular horticultural Nursery and then developed in to Botanical Garden before it is used to supply vegetables for soldiers during the second world War. You can relax here , enjoy the nature for hours and here there are also tree top cottages where you can enjoy for quite time.

Tribal Museum: This museum is famous for viewing the traditional living methods used by the tribals, here you can see ornaments, textiles , hunting tools etc., various artifacts are also sold here.
